Epson R1900 Photo Printer Review

Up until a few months ago, almost all my digital photography printing was outsourced through places like Walmart or Walgreens photo labs. I was always happy with their pricing and quick prints, but seems to always be disappointed with the print quality they produced. I assumed that I must be having a color balance problem and assumed I would just be stuck with this problem.
However about 5 months ago I heard a raving review about an Epson R280 photo printer that you could buy on Epsons online store as a refurb unit shipped for about $55.00. I thought what could I lose in trying this low cost printer, and boy was I impressed with the quality of its prints right from the start.
I print from Lightroom 2.0 and Photoshop CS4, and as long as you use the printer profiles that come with the printer and quality Epson Paper you cant go wrong. I printed several pictures of various family members during Christmas and they were blown away with the print quality.
Since then I have moved up to the large format Epson R1900 which will print beautiful 13x19 as well as 13x44 prints with a supplied roll feeder and found that it produced even more stunning prints than the Epson R280, especially on black and white prints. The cost per print cost is higher, but the quality far outweights the difference. This printer will knock your socks off, and make you swear that you will never be back to the Walmart photo lab when your prints look so professional right out of your own printer!
